1. Introduction
These API Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the SegFlow Quick calc estimate endpoint (the "API") provided by SegFlow AI LLC. The API returns a first-year deduction range for a property from its use type, purchase price and location. By using the API, you agree to these terms.
2. API Access
The API is accessible by HTTP POST to https://segflowai.com/api/v2/estimate. The request and response fields are documented on our API page. No key is required. Authentication may be introduced in a future version with reasonable advance notice, and the path may change when the endpoint moves out of preview; we will give notice of a change in the same way.
You agree to use the API only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You are responsible for all requests made from your application or systems.
3. Rate Limits
The API is limited to 60 requests per minute per IP address. Requests over that limit receive an HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) response. Please implement retry logic with exponential backoff. We may adjust the limit to protect the stability of the Service.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the API to:
- Embed the estimate on your website or application
- Produce preliminary estimates for client properties
- Build internal tools that use the estimate
5. Prohibited Use
You may not use the API to:
- Build a competing product or service that duplicates SegFlow's core functionality
- Scrape or bulk-harvest data for purposes unrelated to your authorized use
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits or security controls
- Transmit malicious code or exploit vulnerabilities in the API
- Degrade performance or availability for other users
- Present an estimate returned by the API as a cost segregation study, or as certified work, without independent professional verification and disclosure
6. Attribution
If you display estimates from the API to end users, you must include visible attribution stating "Powered by SegFlow AI" or display the SegFlow logo.
7. Output Disclaimer
The API returns a deterministic range calculated from the property type, the purchase price and the location you submit. It is an estimate for informational purposes only. It is not a study, it is not a certified cost segregation study, and it must not be presented as either. See our Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability for the full terms governing the outputs of the Service.
8. Data Handling
The API accepts a property type, a purchase price and an optional postal code. It does not accept documents or images, and no files can be uploaded through it. Requests are logged, including the IP address and the submitted values, to detect and prevent abuse; those logs are deleted or de-identified within 90 days. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any data you send.
9. Availability
We target commercially reasonable uptime for the API but do not guarantee specific availability. The API may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors beyond our control. We will endeavor to provide advance notice of planned downtime where possible.
10. Intellectual Property
All rights in the API, including its design, endpoints, and underlying technology, remain the exclusive property of SegFlow AI LLC. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the API in accordance with these terms. No ownership rights are transferred.
11. Termination
We may suspend your API access immediately if you violate these terms, your usage poses a security risk, or your use threatens platform stability. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the API.
12. Limitation of Liability
SEGFLOW AI LLC'S LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING FROM API USE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE API, INCLUDING DAMAGES FROM API DOWNTIME OR INACCURACIES IN API OUTPUTS.
13. Modifications
We may update these API Terms with at least 30 days' notice for material changes. Continued use of the API after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
